Our Small Group Online Chinese Course is perfect for students abroad who want to learn Chinese remotely.

You will be placed in a small group of classmates of a similar Chinese level, which means you’ll be able to learn along with your peers. By using our in-house learning platform NihaoCafe, you will be able to have online Mandarin classes with our teachers wherever in the world you are.

What is the course schedule?

The schedule for this course is flexible and you can decide on the days of the week and time of day, based on your time zone.

Who are the teachers?

Our teachers are all native Chinese speakers who are highly-qualified and experienced in teaching Chinese to foreigners. Our teachers are university graduates with majors in Chinese language education or Chinese literature. They have also previously obtained a “teaching Mandarin as a second language” certificate before they joined us and successfully completed That’s Mandarin’s mandatory Teachers Training Course (TTC).

What teaching materials do you use?

We've developed our own teaching and learning methods. We use our own in-house Chinese learning platform NihaoCafe for all classes. You will be able to find all your class materials, read the teacher’s comments, review your lessons, and schedule your classes.

Will the classes be taught in English?

All of our classes are taught in Chinese to give students a fully immersive Chinese experience. Even for absolute beginners, our teachers will only use limited English to help you understand them. Our teacher will use pictures, videos, signs, and gestures to help you learn.

As your Chinese level progresses, less and less English will be used in your classes and you will be able to understand more and more Chinese every day.

How do you deal with time zone differences?

Our classes are held within the school working hours. Our campuses are open from 8:00 am till 9:00 pm on weekdays and from 9:00 am till 6:00 pm on weekends (China Standard Time (CST) or UTC+8).

Can I prepare for HSK with this online course?

Yes. Course content will be tailor-made to your requirements so that you can focus on learning the things you need most.
